So, let’s get to it:
Look, if you really want to experience a relax ambience in the middle of the jungle or learn about Balinese cultural traditions during your honeymoon in Bali, then Ubud is where you should stay at. Afterall, its
Most of the Villas in Ubud are less modern compared to the one in Seminyak or Canggu. The villas are usually more traditional and blend well with the green lush forest or rice fields.
Here is the best part, Ubud has Ayung River that runs through it.
If you want to wake up to the sound of trickling river stream and birds chirping, then you probably should book one of the villas below:
One of the hidden gem villa in Ubud, Udaya is a great choice if you appreciate the tranquility of nature compare to the bustling nightlife.
Although they offer cheaper Suites Room, I recommend you to get their Pool Villa which will make your honeymoon more memorable.
In any case, you should not miss the floating breakfast and the rooftop candle light dinner with an amazing view of the sunset.
Imagine what it would be like to dine with your spouse next to a waterfall and the view of the vast jungle.
Sounds impressive, right?
The resort is split over multi level mimicking the contour of valley its built on. Each of the rustic-designed villa is designed to have balcony and bathtub overlooking the forest. There is no better feeling of just laying in the tub with the jungle view and the accompanying sound of the nature.
But that’s not all, while you are there, you should at least give Yoga a try. The Kayon provide two session of complimentary yoga each day.
Now, you may wonder, what if you want a more hip area where you can find lots of instagrammable cafes and boutique stores?
The answer? Seminyak!
Seminyak not only offer long stretch of white sand beach and sunset. But it hosts the some of the most popular beach clubs and cafes in Bali. If that’s your cup of tea, then Seminyak is perfect for you.
Book one of the following villas in Seminyak:
Despite located in the heart of Seminyak, you will still find complete serenity while staying at Berry Amour.
What make Berry Amour is special for honeymooners is their attention to detail.
The modern interior and ambience of the villa complex is well designed and the staff are well trained (so well that they will remember each of the guests’ name).
Moreover, there are little details that will make your honeymoon experience unforgettable. Case in point, once you arrive at the reception, you will be served a small welcome snack with little romantic notes and the lady guest will be crowned with laurel wreath.
The best part about the villa is the spacious room (available in three theme, my favourite is their Mystique Villa), and the open-air jacuzzi that is filled with rose petals.
Jalan Kayu Aya is the most popular street in Seminyak where you’ll find endless options of restaurants, cafes, spas and retails shops.
Staying at a villa within walking distance to Kayu Aya street is definitely convenience especially during your honeymoon.
The good news is there is a small romantic villa just at the heart of Kayu Aya street. What’s more is the villa is very instagrammable as it is made of traditional joglo style architecture white all white design, including the roof! The only colour accent is the light blue color of its door and windows.
Despite its central location, the villa is really quiet and serene. Spending lovey dovey time at the swimming pool or hammock is certainly going to make your honeymoon unforgettable.
Here is another hidden gem in the heart of Seminyak bustling tourist area: The Island Houses. Even though you are at the center of Seminyak, you two love birds will still find the villa relaxing and quiet as the property is peacefully hidden away from the main street.
Now here is the interesting part, if you are traveling with another couple to Bali, you can book one of their two or even three bedroom villas. Each villas are individually designed with rustic chic interiors and large size private pools.
If you want to watch the sunset, the Double Six Seminyak Beach is just 500 meters walk away. Or if you have the extra cash, why not spend it on the hip Ku De Ta Beach Club that is really close to the villa.
Alright, it’s time for everyone favourite Bali’s destination, Canggu! It’s where all the hip and instagram-worthy cafes and shops are.
Canggu is also known as the home for Bali’s expatriates, no wonder you will find lots of home feeling cafes where the owners and waitresses are happily chatting with the regulars and new customers.
Canggu is definitely a must visit place if you are ever in Bali.
Here is the ‘most ultra-ultimate’ instagram-worthy villa in Bali: Own Villa Bali.
Countless Instagram superstars had spent nights staying on this authentic Sumatran Joglo architecture villas. Unfortunately the villas are built together side by side so they are not as private as the common villas in Bali.
The oversized pool are also shared with other guests and served as the sweet spot for your Insta-famous feeds as the 5 villas towered at the background and the green tropical garden circled around the complex.
If you are traveling with groups of couple friends, then Own Villa Bali is a must stay. But, even if you are only traveling with your love one, you should still put this villa on your list.
Ok, I know what you are thinking:
You want a less traditional looking villa with beautiful sceneries and comfortable bed for the honeymoon.
Well, here it is! I found a really nice modern villa with a touch of industrial feel. There is no official name of the villa but as its owned by a lady name Barbara, we’ll just called it Barbara’s Villa.
The earth tone interiors feels very romantic with a view overlooking to the green lush rice field. There are private pools, smart tv, cooking and massage services in the villa, so there is no reason for you to go outside.
Oh but, you should get your insect repellent as you will need it. After all, you are in Bali, it will come in handy.
Can I be totally honest with you?
Even Though Canggu is great and hip, my all time favourite destination for honeymoon in Bali is Uluwatu.
The area is charming and have it all. The beaches are covered with exotic white-sand and wild running waves. And the cliffs are beautifully hanging above the Ocean with golden sunset in the afternoon.
Recent years saw numerous cafes and beach clubs being built around the area, so you won’t get bored during your stay in Uluwatu.
Now, let’s take a look at the best option where you can stay in Uluwatu:
If you want a nice beachfront hut without draining your holiday budget, then you might consider one of this bohemian all-white huts at Dreamsea Surf Camp.
The huts are facing the Bingin Beach, so you can wake up to the smell of the ocean and watch the sunset while staying on the bed. Isn’t it wonderful?
You don’t want to waste your time sleeping? Then you can try surfing lesson or sunset yoga during your stay here.
Friendly reminder though, the walls at Dream Sea is ‘paper thin’, so you might get annoyed by the noise your neighbours made.
Here is another instagrammable villa you might like: Gravity Bali.
Gravity features a group of thatched roof boho-designed bungalows surrounded by tropical gardens. Similar to Dream Sea, the interiors are dominated with white colors which make the space really clean and comfortable.
The best place for you to spend and take great Instagrammable photos is on its swimming pool which has a great view.
What makes it even better is the fact that Padang Padang Beach and Dreamland Beach is only 10 minutes away from Gravity.
If you are a true couple adventurer, you might want to look into other less traveled area in Bali, such as Karangasem or Singaraja.
These locations has exotics natural sceneries such as the famous Mount Agung in Karangasem or the Jurassic ambience Sekumpul Waterfall in Singaraja.
Alright, here is the last but certainly not the least. Heck, its probably the best and most instagrammable villa in Bali.
The most famous Instagram celebrities, such as Jack Morris (@doyoutravel) and Lauren Bullen (@gypsealust) has spent nights on this secret gem.
The unique eco all-bamboo hut is built next to the Ayung River and surrounded by tropical forest and rice field. The place is really zen and quiet. The nearest village is located 500 meter away from the villa.
I have to agree that this is not the dream of everyone’s honeymoon. From time to time, you will encounter insects and even geckos. But, there is also a really friendly local dog called Hoki that will guard you during your stay.
